The ASEAN Youth Volunteer Programme (AYVP) Malaysia 2019

The ASEAN Youth Volunteer Programme (AYVP) is a youth community leadership programme that mobilises young volunteers to work with communities in developing innovative solutions to the social, cultural, economic and environmental challenges of the region, while forging a sense of ASEAN identity.

For 2019, the AYVP will be looking into the thematic area of Poverty Eradication to be implemented in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The AYVP Malaysia 2019 is also supported by ASEAN Secretariat and Ministry of Youth and Sports, Malaysia. At the end of 1 month, AYVP Malaysia 2019 seeks to develop 50 ASEAN Youth Poverty Eradication Leaders who are ASEAN-conscious and equipped with skills and competencies in youth leadership and disaster management, through the spirit of volunteerism and community engagement.

The ASEAN Youth Volunteer Programme (AYVP) 2019 is in its seventh year and 2019 will see it being held in the Malaysia from 1 – 27 August 2019 focusing on the thematic area of Poverty Eradication.

This program, developed and implemented by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (The National University of Malaysia – UKM), under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia, with the support of the ASEAN Secretariat.

The Call for Facilitators and Volunteers has been made on 21 March 2019 via AYVP’s official online channels – AYVP Facebook page, Twitter account and AYVP UKM website (

The closing date of application for Volunteers is 17 May 2019, 2359H GMT+8. The selection will be based on individual merits and only shortlisted volunteers will be notified before 30 June 2019.
